A BRIEF URB1 BIOGRAPHY Urb1
is copyrighted and a registered trademark of Urb1.
Created in July of 2002, Urb1 was the 1st totally
hiphop fashion website online! Originaly known as
the Urban Fashion Guide, a tool to give the south
half of the US, easy access to new fashion, Urb1
revolutionized the web by exposing the mass hiphop
fashion crowd online, looking to buy clothing.
This in turn set off and advertising revolution
that even we didn't expect, which in turn caused
the number of online hiphop clothing stores to
increase heavily! And if you think we are wrong,
please review the stats since we
started!
Since our
creation, the only problems encountered, is people
trying to mimic our site or just all out copying
it. We hope people do not support these at
all. Those sites will never be the original, nor
get the same results as Urb1 (the originator
online for urban & hiphop fashion) because
they are built with wrong intentions and have no
love for fashion or even may'be hiphop at that. As
P. Diddy would say, "We ain't going nowere... we
can't be stopped.. It's Urbbbb 1"! Visitors that
come to our site are looking for hiphop fashion
strictly. Urb1 will never produce misleading links
or ads.
WHY THE NAME CHANGE? The
Urban Fashion Guide was changed into Urb1 directly
upon the 3rd layout release in January of 2004.
The reason being, is simply people had created
sites named so similiar to ours that it was a must
something was created that just totally seperated
us from any competition. Is this the last name? We
hope so, eventhough we are looking into other,
more personal names...
PLACES YOU'VE
SEEN URB1? Urb1 has been seen all
over the internet. It even has top search rank
listings in all the premier search engines without
paid for advertising. Major and minor sites have
mostly been or still are affiliated with Urb1, as
the owner has been involved with online hiphop
sites for over 6 years (before the internet
boom)! Magazines worldwide have came to
our site to get hiphop fashion information, but we
are not sure if we're properly credited as we get
the calls, but no magazine. Within the US however, you can
constantly find Urb1 featured somewhere in XXL
magazine! Currently the #1 selling hiphop
magazine, which Urb1 also does ad sales
for.
HOW MUCH FURTHER WILL URB1
GO? Personlly, being the owner of
Urb1, I want to take this to a new level in the
hiphop fashion game. The website has already
touched new points of the hiphop fashion game
which nobody else has. We got 9,960 unique
visitors in one day and plan on getting over
10,000 a day by the end of 2004. The only way we
won't reach this point if funding is too low to
promote the site.
We created the Urb1
paper-back (newsletter) magazine in Feb 2004. Sent
out free of charge, Urb1 wants it to be the
century 2000's answer to what Eastbay catalogue
was in the mid 1990's to the hiphop and urban
communities. In short, we want everybody to be
looking at it!
After the newsletter is
operating stable, we plan on doing an Urb1 hiphop
fashion show in Greenville, SC and may'be taking
it on tour to other cities. Once again, support
from designers and retailers come into play with
this. We want to launch the only strictly hiphop
fashion show in G-ville, SC which is perfectly
located between Charlotte, NC and Atlanta, GA
because there's higher demand in these areas where
fashion is released later than other coasts. Not
to mention, the Upstate Metro of SC hosts 2
million+ people, the Charlotte, NC metro hosts
another 3 million+, and the Atlanta metro hosts 5
million+! Between those 10 million southern
people, it's gauranteed to be a major marketing
and sales event if we get to organize it as we
have pre-planned!
